2012 what another great year at Lilydale Golf Club.Once again we gathered at the Pine Grove Hotel, Upper Beaconsfield for the 29th Annual Lilydale Golf Club Awards. So this means 2013 will mark 30 years for the group which is a tremendous achievement to be still operating in this environment as a successful unit. We may even experience some fine weather after our bad luck the past couple of years.Our membership base has grown again this year with 6 new players trying out the group, with most staying on. The overall number of rounds played for the year was below our normal numbers, however, we still averaged 33 players for each game which is a great turnout. Again we have the pleasure of the LLSGC being amongst our midst, which is great to see many a partner enjoying the game of golf and well done to the winners & grinners for the year. For the men was pleasing to see we had 12 different winners for each of our rounds, so the awards were shared around the group.To all those members who helped out during the year, thanks for your assistance. Big thanks go to Reg and the team for the great job in organising the player draws / markers etc for each game, and once again Rex had the difficult job of rounding up the cash, which he does so well and we appreciate his efforts. End of a great Era as Robbo and Rex setup and exit strategy for Jay Callow and Brad Farrel to serve their apprenticeships next year. A few milestaones as Fraser McDonald and Gary Harman reach 200 games, and we welcome 5 new members. 37 balls were distributed (down 7%) with 97 Birdeies (down 16) had 3 eagles during the 395 rounds of golf played by members - average 33 per game. Vin Thornton won back-to-back Naga's and Jay Callow being the only member to play all games in 2012.
